Thanks for visiting my blog. You will have noticed a distinct lack of posts for some time, so an update is well overdue! I remain very interested in vintage Citizen watches, but other commitments and activities have taken me away from proper blog management. I must apologise especially for not responding to comments posted on the blog. Time is just not available for that I’m afraid.
I will be keeping the blog active, since it provides a reference resource for fellow Citizen enthusiasts and collectors, so your visits here remain very welcome. And I will reply as best I can to questions sent via the email tool on this home page, under the ‘Got a Question‘ header. Please only use this if you have an enquiry about a vintage Citizen, rather than posting a question as a comment on the relevant page since I won’t be able to reply via that route. I do welcome as well additional information that I may not have included in my posts and pages.
Before emailing a question please use the search function found on the right side of the home page since you may get the answer you need more quickly that way.
My own collection and reference material cover mechanical and electro-mechanical hybrid watches from 1931 to 1980, and the pre-1980 early quartz models. Please note I can’t offer much help about models later than that period, for example the Eco Drives and mass produced quartz models. Probably the best way to find information on these later types is to search using the relevant case number which is likely to start with the calibre number, in the form of 1234-567890 (may also contain letters)

Hi there,
Love your site. I have a pretty nice vintage Citizen collection also. No jet professional yet, but have the Dandy Seven diver and Citizen Junior Ship and Map dials. I have the prototype Cosmotron that they never produced. I just stumbled upon this interesting little watch with “CL” on the dial. Of course I was thinking Citizen Leopard. But the 19 jewel hand winder is not in the leopard family. Has the leopard angled down like he’s going for a dive. I’m guessing this might be the Black Cheetah. Although it does not say so on the dial like others I’ve found. The dial layout is like a Crystal Seven day/date. Dial numbers are 7104-5650. I’ve found one other identical one online, so I know it’s legit. Ever seen one? What is CL?
Thank you in advance!!
Scott
